About Me.
My name is Arthur Benson, and I hold a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Exeter. I specialise in working with older adults in care homes, individuals with dementia, and adults with physical and learning disabilities. I collaborate with large care sector groups such as Barchester Healthcare, HC-One, Sanctuary Supported Living and Blue Sky Care Ltd and supply many more independent care homes with regular, science-based exercise programs. By delivering tailored exercise therapy sessions, I help improve mobility, strength, and overall well-being, empowering individuals to lead more active and fulfilling lives.’.

WHY CHOOSE CARE ACTIVE COACHING.
At CareActive Coaching, the mission is to enhance the quality of life for older adults in care homes and individuals with complex needs—including those with learning or physical disabilities and advanced dementia—through safe, tailored exercise sessions. Our approach is rooted in robust scientific evidence that underscores the critical role of physical activity (PA) in mitigating health risks.Evidence from systematic reviews indicates that low levels of PA are associated with a high risk of adverse outcomes in care home residents, including pressure sores, joint contractures, decreased cardiovascular function, and urinary infections (Crocker et al.2013). Moreover, sarcopenia—defined as the progressive loss of muscle mass and function (Patel et al 2013)—is a significant muscle disorder and a powerful predictor of adverse health outcomes in older people, independent of clinical disease (Moore et al. 2020), (Landi et al.2012), (Fried et al.2001). The prevalence of sarcopenia in the care home population is estimated to be as high as 85% (Zhang et al. 2018), with physical inactivity being a major risk factor for its development (Steffl et al. 2017).Our chair-based exercise sessions, available in both small group and 1-1 settings, are specifically designed to address these challenges. By promoting regular, safe physical activity, we help reduce the risk of these adverse outcomes, improve mobility and strength, and enhance overall well-being.Choose CareActive Coaching to make a proactive investment in the health and quality of life for your residents .
